Substantive servicing of six meetings of the sixth session of the Committee on Social Development

(h) Ensuring the implementation of resolutions and decisions of the Commission, the Economic and Social Council and the Executive Committee on Economic and Social Affairs.

According to the United Nations Economic and Social Council Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights The Committee is concerned about the illegal occupation by refugees and internally displaced persons of properties belonging to Armenians and other ethnic minorities.

The Committee is concerned that the social security system in HKSAR does not include unemployment benefits.

In 2003, the Gender and Social Equity Committee of the House of Representatives had been set up which, together with the Equity, Gender and Social Development Committee of the Senate, ensured that draft legislation promoted equality and non discrimination of women.

In 1997, he established a movement called the Social Committee For the Moral Revival of the Fatherland.

Turkmenistan continues to be overdue in its reporting obligations to the Human Rights Committee since 1998, to the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights since 1999 and to the Committee against Torture since 2000.

In New Zealand, Government departments are required to prepare gender implication statements to the Cabinet Social Development Committee.

The seven intergovernmental committees are (a) the Statistical Committee (b) the Committee on Social Development (c) the Committee on Energy (d) the Committee on Water Resources (e) the Committee on Transport (f) the Technical Committee on Liberalization of Foreign Trade and Economic Globalization in the countries of the ESCWA region and (g) the Committee on Women.

For reasons of space, it will only be possible to analyse the comments of the Human Rights Committee (HRC) and the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR).

From August 2004 to July 2005, the Human Rights Committee, the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Committee on the Rights of the Child, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women and the Committee against Torture considered the reports of 94 States parties.

It contains a compilation of the rules of procedure adopted, respectively, by the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Human Rights Committee, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the Committee against Torture, and the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Two of nine committees are headed by women (the Committee on the Economy, Budget, Finances and Taxes and the Committee on Social Issues, the Family, Health Care and the Environment).

Collection of statistical data on women who work without payment, social security and social benefits in enterprises owned by a family member, and include these data in their report to the Committee.

There is a cross ministerial national committee for the social welfare of older persons chaired by the Minister of Health.

The Committee takes note of the difficulties encountered by the State party, especially those of an economic and social nature.

I am sure that the Second Committee and the Economic and Social Council will continue to carry out that monitoring.

(a) Providing substantive servicing to the Commission, the Committee on Emerging Social Issues, the Subcommittee on Socially Vulnerable Groups and the Subcommittee on Health and Development on matters relating to emerging social issues

The discussions of the Third Committee should focus on social development and reaffirm the commitments given to end poverty and unemployment, ensure social complementarity and define priorities at the national and international levels.

Noting the ongoing deliberations on the proposal to rectify the legal status of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights,

Recalling Economic and Social Council resolution 2004 67 of 5 November 2004 on the report of the Committee for Development Policy,

As we can now see, the Social Committee For the Moral Revival of the Fatherland wants to be among the managers.

The Committee notes with regret that the information provided on the extent of poverty and social exclusion in HKSAR was insufficient.
