The G 8 led Counter Terrorism Action Group provides significant counter terrorism assistance, which lends support to the Committee's work.

The first project involves preparation of Model Counter Terrorism legislation to implement UNSCR 1373 and the 12 counter terrorism conventions.

Many countries still need to improve their defenses and implement the 16 counter terrorism instruments established by the United Nations, including the convention against terrorist financing.
