Resolution 59 255, adopted by the General Assembly last year, emphasized the need for continued collaboration between the Economic and Social Council and the Security Council in generating a coherent approach.

We have voiced a general approach.

A holistic approach has been adopted, encompassing general, mental, physical and spiritual health of the young.

Denmark will engage actively in efforts to further develop the proposals of the Secretary General regarding reform of the General Assembly, the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council.

On general issues, the Peacebuilding Commission should make recommendations on peacebuilding policy to the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council and the General Assembly within their areas of competence

Critics complain that this approach places too much trust in a Security Council that can be paralyzed by politics and the veto.

The General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, also known as Council Secretariat , assists the Council of the European Union, the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Council and the President of the European Council.

At its substantive session of 2004, the Economic and Social Council requested the Secretary General to submit to the General Assembly at its fifty ninth session, through the Council, a report on the implementation of the resolution (Council resolution 2004 54).
