Organization and administration of the Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate

In 2004 the Executive Committee consisted of 66 member countries.

The terms of reference of the Executive Committee establish a process by which the Executive Committee is to nominate a candidate for Chief Officer of the Multilateral Fund secretariat for appointment by the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Comprehensive review of the work of the Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate

The Executive Committee must report annually to the Meeting of the Parties.

The Executive Secretaries of the regional commissions participated actively in all the meetings of the Executive Committee on Economic and Social Affairs.

The Committee will be assisted in its implementation of this work programme by the Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate through implementation in turn of the Executive Directorate's second work programme (see appendix).

Also in mid 2004, the Executive Committee and the external auditors recommended that UNHCR commission an independent review of its senior management structure, to encompass issues raised by the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions and the Executive Committee.
