We have an important role to play in advancing the principles of sound knowledge, quality decision making, and transparency.

DSS became an area of research of its own in the middle of the 1970s, before gaining in intensity during the 1980s.

Mr. Fuenmayor Contreras (Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela) expressed support for the draft resolution and reiterated his Government's support for the self determination of Puerto Rico.

The efforts of the multinational and Iraqi forces to improve the security environment are buttressed by progress in the political process, endorsed by resolution 1546 (2004).

Before concluding, I would like to express Denmark's firm support for and confidence in the work of the 1540 Committee, as just described by its Chairman.

Accommodation support

To implement the Action Programme for Equality 2001 2006 for the support of women's participation in decision making centres, laws were voted for and actions were promoted, aiming at an integrated intervention on the issue of women participation in decision making centres.

In the same resolution, the Assembly called upon Governments to take all necessary measures to advance beyond the adoption of national plans for persons with disabilities and emphasized the importance of supporting national efforts through international cooperation.

The second is that upholding the ICC as we have, by adopting resolution 1593 (2005), will be to no avail unless we remain supportive of the Court as it exercises its prerogatives upon our referral.
