The Techno Economic Approach for Africa India Movement initiative is designed to promote technology transfer to West Africa.

This approach should be integrated into youth policies in order to further reduce the social, cultural and economic inequalities that prevent the enjoyment of the basic rights of all young people.

With this approach, social democracy can again drive progress, instead of being stifled by identity politics and market fundamentalism. That would serve not only the cause of social justice, but also the goal of sustaining the skilled, happy, and healthy workforce that a successful economy requires.

We need to continue to focus on effective approaches to break the destructive and vicious circles in which conflict, banditism, lack of development and dire social conditions perpetuate one another.

In commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Copenhagen Summit, earlier in 2005, the Commission for Social Development had stressed the need to realign current efforts with that fundamental approach.
