The details of the contributions are reflected in the budget paper (UNEP FAO RC COP.2 18).

An increase in non earmarked contributions and in the regular budget allocation would represent a meaningful and long term solution to the problem.

So far, about 29 per cent of the required budget has been resourced through multilateral and bilateral contributions.

The total budgeted expenditure (at 2004 2005 costs) under contributions to the cost shared services has increased by 1,208,600 (7 per cent).

In the early years, the contribution from the United Nations regular budget covered more than 20 per cent of UNEP's expenditures.

Switzerland intended to continue supporting the Agency's activities both through its contributions to the regular budget and through supplementary payments in response to specific appeals.

An increase of 16 posts is proposed under earmarked contributions owing to additional programme requirements arising from increased levels of contribution.
