The bill would strengthen international cooperation, implement international treaties to which Mexico is a party, govern requests for international judicial assistance in the absence of a treaty, especially separating procedures for international judicial assistance from pretrial investigations in the interest of expeditious processing.

Most States continued enhancing their legal framework in order to facilitate international judicial cooperation.

We will endeavour to conclude and implement to that effect mutual judicial assistance and extradition agreements and to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement agencies

In conclusion, the international framework on judicial cooperation has been considerably strengthened since the first reporting period.

Lastly, until such time as the international conditions required for the establishment of an international criminal jurisdiction are generated, and further progress is made in the progressive development of the law of nations, emphasis should be given to strengthening both national institutions and States to international judicial assistance, as the sole viable alternative means for States to combat crime.
