This raises uncertainties about the status of such agreements under the GATS.

Such agreements exist, for the most part, under the Enabling Clause at WTO, which is available to developing countries.

Advocates of such agreements claim that they are needed to protect property rights.

The inclusion of such provisions in international agreements is a fully logical development.

Recalling the significance of existing international agreements covering specific categories of hazardous activities and stressing the importance of the conclusion of further such agreements,

1. Urges all States parties to arms limitation and disarmament and non proliferation agreements to implement and comply with the entirety of all provisions of such agreements

The past few years have seen dramatic growth worldwide in the number of such agreements.

Such initiatives contribute to national and local agreements to make budgetary processes more gender responsive.

Of these, 54 (36 Professional and 18 Local level) relate to multilateral environmental agreements and have now been included under the staffing complement for trust funds supporting multilateral agreements.

Turkey had acted as a guarantor Power within its contractual obligations and responsibilities under the 1960 agreements.

We appreciate that the resolution takes note of the existence of those agreements and will continue to pursue additional such agreements with other countries as we move forward.

The Conference therefore urges those States parties which have not yet done so to conclude such agreements.
