The Commission welcomes the ratification of the 1999 Convention concerning the prohibition and immediate action for the elimination of the worst forms of child labour (No. 182) of the International Labour Organization.

(b) To take immediate action to implement fully concrete legislative, executive and administrative measures to eradicate the practice of forced labour and to implement fully the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry established to examine the observance by Myanmar of the International Labour Organization Convention concerning Forced or Compulsory Labour (Convention No. 29)

The Libyan Arab Jamahiriya was one of the signatories to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and Convention No. 182 of the International Labour Organization (ILO) concerning the Prohibition and Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour.

3. Calls upon all States to translate into concrete action their commitment to the progressive and effective elimination of child labour contrary to accepted international standards, and urges them, inter alia, to eliminate immediately the worst forms of child labour as set out in International Labour Organization Convention No. 182 of 1999

The Forum calls upon all those Member States which have not yet done so to consider without delay ratifying the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and International Labour Organization Convention No. 169.

In addition to the substantial progress seen in the adoption by governments of the Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNICEF has also continued to advocate for the ratification of International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention 182 on the worst forms of child labour.

The Labour and Employment Act should be reviewed in the light of that requirement and she wondered whether the relevant International Labour Organization Conventions had been ratified, including Convention No. 103 on Maternity Protection (Revised) of 1952.

Positive aspects The Committee notes with satisfaction the State party's ratification, in 2002, of the International Labour Organization Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No. 111).

States were called on to ratify, as soon as possible, the International Labour Organization Convention No. 169 (1989) concerning indigenous and tribal peoples in independent countries.

This programme is implemented according to Article 4, paragraph 5, law 1302 82, by which the International Labour Convention 103 on Maternity Protection (1952) was ratified.

The Occupational Health Services Convention of 1985 (No. 161) of the International Labour Organization (ILO) lists the basic functions a national occupational health service should provide.

In addition, Kuwait had recently signed the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, and had ratified 15 conventions of the International Labour Organization, in particular the Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182).
