The Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has concluded the following international agreements to that end

Expresses its profound thanks to the Republic of the Sudan, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, State of Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Senegal for ratifying the ICIC Agreement.

1.18 With reference to the international conventions and protocols relating to terrorism, the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has ratified the following international conventions and protocols

The Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations has the honour to enclose herewith Jordan's report on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1540 (2004).

5.1 The Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan reaffirms its commitment to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and to the relevant resolutions of the Security Council.

The Security Council expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims of these attacks and their families, and to the people and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan also maintains communication links for cooperation with the European Union and its training programmes for the physical protection of materials relating to weapons of mass destruction.

I express the deep sympathy and condolences of my Government to the Government and the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the human losses caused by those barbaric attacks.

Let me take this opportunity to express to the Government and the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan my Government's deepest condolences in connection with the terrorist attack carried out in Amman yesterday, which caused serious casualties among innocent civilians.

3.8 The Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has undertaken to develop a national preparation plan in the event of the use of weapons of mass destruction, in cooperation with the institutions that would be involved in responding to such an eventuality.

Ms. Moses (Nauru) On behalf of the Government and people of Nauru, I wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Government and people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the tragic loss of lives in the terrorist attacks in Amman.

Protocol for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Fixed Platforms Located on the Continental Shelf, signed at Rome on 10 March 1988 (the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan deposited the instruments of ratification of the Protocol on 2 July 2004).

4.5 A project on the management of hazardous chemicals is being implemented in cooperation with scientific entities and other competent authorities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with a view to the amalgamation of the aforementioned lists and the electronic networking of the institutions concerned.

Mr. Beck (Palau) On behalf of the Government and the people of Palau, I wish to express our deepest condolences to the Government and the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the tragic loss of lives in the terrorist attacks in Amman.

At the same time, potential Sunni Arab rivals like Hashemite Jordan and Egypt are reminded that Saudi Arabia remains the ideological heartland of Islam.

The United States has also provided to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan a number of electronic surveillance devices and a vehicle for inspecting containers and other equipment for improving the capacity of the border posts to provide border security and ensure the safety of goods.

2.3.b The Technical Committee, responsible for follow up of the implementation of resolution 1540 (2004) and the preparation of the related report of the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, issued a recommendation concerning the establishment of the committees responsible for cooperation with OPCW.

In regard to the Committee's question concerning the implementation in Jordanian domestic law of the conventions and protocols ratified by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the provisions of such conventions and protocols become an integral part of Jordanian domestic legislation by virtue of their ratification.

The first checkpoint for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Israel Mixed Armistice Commission at the Mandelbaum Gate, from the close of the 1948 Arab Israeli War in 1949 until August 1952, was moved from the Israeli side of the Gate to the Demilitarised Zone after the Barrel Incident .

Mr. Kapoma (Zambia) Let me begin by conveying the condolences of my Government to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to its Government, to the families of those who lost their lives and to those who sustained injuries in the terrorist acts that befell that country two days ago.

Mr. Skinner Klée (Guatemala) (spoke in Spanish) I wish to begin by conveying our heartfelt condolences to the people and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the dreadful terrorist attacks that took place on 9 November in Amman, which have taken a heavy toll in innocent lives.

2.4.a Following the events of 11 September 2001 and the adoption by the Security Council of counter terrorism resolutions, the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan passed deterrent legislation providing for imprisonment or capital punishment for any person committing a terrorist act using a weapon classified as a weapon of mass destruction.

The King of Jordan, in an address to the citizens of his country, declared that Jordan was dismantling its legal and administrative links with the West Bank, a territory that formed part of Palestine under the mandate given to the United Kingdom and that was occupied by Jordan in 1950 following the first war between the Arab countries and Israel.
