The topic of today's thematic debate, disarmament machinery, is of very great interest to my delegation.

The establishment of early warning systems should be better dealt with by the thematic topic on drought and desertification monitoring and assessment.

The point was made that this topic would be a relevant follow up to the first Office of Internal Oversight Services thematic evaluation on headquarters field linkages and would logically follow as the next thematic evaluation.

Mr. Rodolfo Stavenhagen reminded the Working Group that his thematic topic of this year was the subject of implementation of constitutional reform and laws.
