The close front unrounded vowel, or high front unrounded vowel, is a type of vowel sound that occurs in many spoken languages, represented in the International Phonetic Alphabet by the symbol i.

There are five pure vowel sounds a , é , i , o , u , and two neutral vowels e , and eu .

A widespread view is that Russia is simply reverting to type freedom was never more than a fleeting vowel in its historical alphabet.

In English, the most common vowel used in the formation of the combining form is the letter o , added to the word root.
