As of November 2005, the United Nations Office at Geneva has ensured the proper segregation of duties with regard to procurement functions and has restructured responsibilities accordingly.

The sharing of family responsibilities by both spouses had to be emphasized.

The Committee finds the allocation of responsibilities among the three teams to be uneven.

It particularly wanted to avoid a separation of adjudicatory and investigatory functions, since that led to a situation where the Commissioners were totally divorced from investigations and met very infrequently.

The mechanisms for transferring the responsibilities to local or federal authorities vary from the obligation to adopt a special law on transfer of responsibilities to the procedure of mutual agreement, acceptance of responsibilities and adoption of special law, to a one sided decision to transfer the responsibilities.

(c) The State encourages the provision of additional social services to enable parents to combine the fulfillment of family responsibilities with their job and with participation in public life.

There are also many obstacles impeding the combination of employment and other family responsibilities, responsibilities that are largely borne by women.

(h) Encouraging joint responsibility of men and boys with women and girls in the promotion of gender equality

Further efforts are also needed to harmonize the distribution of responsibilities between local councils and the traditional chiefdom system.

But how far can the separation between person and politician be taken and to what extent do we really give it credence?
