The Director explained that audit guidelines were developed in cooperation with headquarters divisions to ensure that auditors performed the correct and relevant tests based on existing procedures.

The auditor's claim file stated that its audit activities did not resume until August 1991, more than four months after the date of the allegedly contemporaneous audit certificate.

They can overextend their finances, fall victim to promotions, invest carelessly in the wrong assets, and direct production into regions and activities on the basis of momentary excitement rather than calculation of economic fundamentals.

The family of the Kuwaiti shareholder also submitted a letter dated 11 June 2004 from the auditor who had prepared the audited statements provided by the individual claimant, which stated that these accounts had been prepared on the basis of documents given to them by the individual claimant.
