In addition to disaster preparedness and mitigation, Kyrgyzstan supports initiatives on the creation of a worldwide early warning system for natural disasters.

In order to implement a global integrated disaster management system, the Action Team made the following three recommendations in its final report

The Secretariat of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction invited entities of the United Nations system to attend the meeting of the Inter Agency Task Force on Disaster Reduction, to be held in Geneva from 24 to 26 May 2005.

Effective coordination of humanitarian and disaster relief assistance requires cooperation between all stakeholders, including the United Nations system, and regional as well as national mechanisms.
