The environmental law programme has recently introduced knowledge management tools into its training activities designed to study national competencies in implementing environmental obligations.

The activities carried out by the UNITAR environmental law programme have focused on a distance learning course on international environmental law and on the development of capacity building workshops organized at both the national and the regional level.

In order to enhance and mainstream environmental management, efforts are being made to develop further the Guate Verde (Green Guatemala) programme, which is the environmental component of the current national agenda.
