Having considered the United Nations Millennium Declaration,

Bearing in mind the United Nations Millennium Declaration, as well as the Vienna Declaration on Crime and Justice and its plans of action,

The Millennium Declaration also refers, in chapter VIII, to strengthening the United Nations.

We will now take action on the draft resolution entitled United Nations Declaration on Human Cloning .

They add that the content of the letter violates the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Covenant.

The United Nations Millennium Declaration was adopted by Heads of State and Government in September 2000.

The Millennium Declaration and the Secretary General's road map contained objectives that the international community and the United Nations system shared unequivocally.

Recognizes that implementation of the Millennium Declaration and attainment of international development goals as identified at United Nations and world conferences, and of the Millennium Development Goals will contribute to the progressive realization of the right to development

In accordance with the draft resolution, the General Assembly would approve the United Nations Declaration on Human Cloning annexed to it.

Reaffirming the United Nations Millennium Declaration adopted on 8 September 2000,

Recalling the United Nations Millennium Declaration,See resolution 55 2. and recognizing that the Millennium Declaration includes important goals and targets pertaining to youth,

I am heartened that in the debates on both the future of the United Nations and on the follow up to the United Nations Millennium Declaration, respect for human rights occupies a central place.

At its fifty fifth session, the General Assembly adopted the United Nations Millennium Declaration (resolution 55 2), and requested the Secretary General urgently to prepare a long term road map towards the implementation of the Millennium Declaration within the United Nations system (resolution 55 162).

In his 2003 report on the implementation of the United Nations Millennium Declaration, the Secretary General noted that

That would be in accordance with the targets of the 2000 Abuja Declaration to Roll Back Malaria in Africa and with the internationally agreed Development Goals of the United Nations Millennium Declaration.

In this regard, the UN Draft Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples is critically important to our future as Indigenous women and nations.

3. Calls upon the entire United Nations system to assist Member States in every way possible in the implementation of the Millennium Declaration
