I note however that, as stated previously, one motion has been denied, one motion was withdrawn by the Prosecution, and the Prosecution has indicated it will soon withdraw another 11bis motion.

I am pleased to note that the Government has complied with the first commitment.

In conclusion, I would like to indicate that we subscribe to the Secretary General's conclusions and recommendations (S 2005 636) and we encourage the Security Council and the international community to work tirelessly for the effective implementation of resolution 1325 (2000).

In conclusion, I would point out that we warmly welcomed the statement made by the representative of China, and wish to congratulate his delegation in particular on the progress his country has made in the peaceful uses of outer space.

Finally, I would like to refer to the programme entitled Brazil without homophobia , our national programme to combat violence and discrimination against gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual persons, as well as to promote citizenship among homosexuals.

First, I would refer to peace and security.

Here, I would like to recall paragraph 73 of the summit outcome document, which emphasizes the obligation of States to settle their disputes by peaceful means in accordance with Chapter VI of the Charter, including, when appropriate, by the use of the International Court of Justice.

As for the Greek Cypriot representative's questioning of the real intentions of Turkey vis à vis the settlement of the Cyprus problem, I would like to refer, once again, to your latest mission of good offices report, in which you stated and I quote

Given the level of understanding achieved by the international community with respect to the use of existing resources and the experience acquired by neighbouring countries whose capacity could be used to rebuild the Afghan economy, I would like to note briefly the contribution of Uzbekistan in this area.

With regard to the review conference, I wish to note that my delegation, hoping to secure the broadest possible acceptance of the principles of the 1995 Agreement and the greatest possible participation of States, encourages the participation of States not parties on an equal footing with States parties.

I would note that my country has also adopted national legislation and regulations relating to those instruments.

I wish to refer to Your Excellency's note dated 20 September 2004 concerning the request by the Counter Terrorism Committee for further information from Thailand on questions focusing on the next set of priorities aimed at furthering the implementation of resolution 1373.

As concerns the disarmament section of the report, I should like to point out the rightly emphasized need for further effective steps to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, including the counter terrorist aspect of this problem.
