A broad range of helpful proposals have been made in the course of the Group apos s work.

III. ORGANIZATIONAL PROPOSALS

Last March I put before the Member States a set of proposals in my report entitled In larger freedom , a phrase which comes from the Preamble to the Charter of the United Nations.

We expect that the next report of the Working Group will consolidate all the proposals on the table, including those submitted by the OIC Group.

The draft outcome document has set out a comprehensive set of proposals, and in that regard the proposals for an independent oversight advisory committee to assist the General Assembly and for an evaluation of the United Nations entire internal control and oversight system acquire special urgency under current circumstances.

They were gratified to see that many of those proposals had been adopted.

Many proposals have been put forward in this regard.

My colleague, Secretary General Kofi Annan, has placed before Governments a wide ranging series of proposals to move the United Nations forward as an institution and to promote the priority global issues with which it deals.
