Note by the Secretary General

The present note includes information on the status of implementation for Parties and for participating States.

A list of hotels for direct bookings is also attached in an annex.

But the Government's attitude in the proceedings could reflect its acceptance of the note as valid at the international level, an important type of unilateral conduct that will not be considered in this report.

Explanatory memorandum

The Committee is requested to take note of the amounts set out in the annex to the present note.

Responsibility for the contents of the note rests, however, solely with the United Nations Secretariat.

This format will be followed for each of the draft articles presented in this Note.

The meeting included a series of closed sessions followed by an open session with representatives from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and two implementing agencies.

The expected date of completion for this technical note is 30 June 2005.

This note describes some of the activities of international organizations active in the field of insolvency law.

This note was submitted on the above mentioned date as a result of processing delays.

All information received by the Secretariat appears in the comparative table attached as an annex to this Note.

The outputs are based on the proposed programme of work and priorities for the Secretariat for 2006 2007 found in paragraph 16 of the present note.

In fact, those terms had been used in paragraph 2 of the explanatory memorandum (A 60 235).

The note was addressed to the Government of Azerbaijan via that country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The present note contains that additional information in order to provide a fuller understanding of the views of the Secretariat.

For that reason, having considered the state of preparedness, the secretariat presents in this note suggestions rather than options.

The Board has requested the COP MOP to consider this issue and take steps to find a solution.
