Expert group meetings and expert briefs are supporting the preparation of particular aspects of the study.

The SBI encouraged the CGE to continue its coordination efforts with the NCSP and other expert groups under the Convention and requested the secretariat to support the efforts of the CGE.

Support to the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE) and the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) will continue to play a pivotal role.

The European Commission has agreed to support the work of the GoE by convening the fourth meeting of the Group in the second half of 2005.

During the Expert Meeting, support had also been expressed for UNCTAD's ongoing technical cooperation projects regarding transit transport clusters.

Consistent with the conclusions of the sixth meeting of the LEG, the following papers were prepared by the LEG and the secretariat for consideration at this meeting

Partnerships with sister organizations of the United Nations system and other international organizations, as well as the use of specialized inputs of national expertise, continue to reinforce the support platform for the mission.

The study of the ad hoc expert group identified several international initiatives that were contributing in a significant way to increasing the use of space based technologies in support of disaster management activities.

(b) Upstream and analytical work, including expert group meetings and joint projects with research institutions, to support the development of UNIDO priority programmes and new initiatives

Overall, motivations for such FDI tend to be similar to those for R D related FDI from developed country TNCs (for example to support local sales abroad, to be near global manufacturing bases, and to hire foreign experts).

The role of this committee will be to support the experts and facilitate coordination between them throughout the year and to promote the standing of the special procedures system within the broader framework of the United Nations and its human rights programmes.

The multi year programme of work also envisaged intersessional activities, such as the meetings of ad hoc expert groups and country and organization led initiatives to support the work of the Forum.

It also welcomed the initiative of the CGE to develop a joint work plan with the National Communications Support Programme (NCSP) of the United Nations Development Programme United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Several members of the GoE, experts included in the Roster of Independent Experts, and others, assisted in the review process.
