The fifth cycle country programme for Lebanon was an example of this evolving approach, providing critical support to economic management, civil service reform, social reconstruction and balanced sustainable development.

The approach

Experience during this period has made it possible to formulate for these countries an approach to United Nations representation at the country level which achieves that objective and which has been welcomed by the Governments concerned.

This approach appears to be the most transparent and practical one.
