The SBI endorsed the dates of 7 9 December 2005 for the high level segment of COP 11 and COP MOP 1 to be attended by ministers and other heads of delegation.

The increasing number of women occupying second echelon in all ministries and government institutions has opened wider opportunity for them to represent the country in international or regional sub regional meetings.

The SBI requested the host country to facilitate the issuance of visas in order to ensure effective participation by Parties.

B. Intergovernmental organizations

Some factors contributing to the number and scope of meetings, such as the large number of agenda items and the frequency of their consideration, are being considered in the ongoing discussions of the intergovernmental process.

As most of the work of the Department results from and feeds into the meetings of intergovernmental bodies, meetings management can make or break the whole concept of conference management.

The head of ICA acts as Secretary of the COP and COP MOP the programme assists the President in the planning and organization of sessions of the COP and COP MOP, meetings of the Bureau, and informal high level consultations.

Women representatives from the NGO community do get invited to be part of the Government delegation to meetings at times.
