1.68 In order to strengthen and support the activities carried out by the Office, the proposal is to provide resources to supplement the existing resources of the Office.

104. We also request the Secretary General to establish, within the Secretariat and from within existing resources, a small peacebuilding support office staffed by qualified experts to assist and support the Peacebuilding Commission. The office should draw on the best expertise available.

The Office of Internal Oversight Services has recommended the migration of the technical development, maintenance and support functions from the Department of Peacekeeping Operations to the Department of Management, specifically to the Information Technology Services Division of the Office of Central Support Services.
