The timetable of meetings for next week should include two plenary meetings.

The PRESIDENT Next week, on Tuesday, we will have our next plenary meeting at 10 a.m. in this room.

We have listened with much attention to the statements made at the plenary during this week by the Foreign Ministers of various countries.

As I stated at the High level Plenary Meeting last week, my delegation supports all initiatives to strengthen the United Nations and its institutions.

The available conference facilities will, in principle, enable the Committee to hold no more than 6 to 8 plenary meetings per week and the working groups referred to in paragraphs 7 and 8 above to hold 4 meetings for the week.

One week ago, world leaders gathered here at the historic High level Plenary Meeting and demonstrated their collective political will to overcome the many challenges facing the world.

Therefore I would like to propose that next week, unless there are views to the contrary, the Conference should hold only one plenary meeting, on Tuesday, 6 September.

Finally, I wish to remind all delegations that next week, which is the final week of Ramadan, the hours of the plenary meetings of the General Assembly and the meetings of the Main Committees will be from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2.30 to 5.30 p.m.

However, the schedule towards completion of the Synthesis Report by October 2007 will leave only one week between the IPCC plenary and COP 13, which is currently scheduled for 5 16 November 2007.
