The consolidated appeals process 2005 for West Africa underlined the need to fund a regional humanitarian response strategy with project proposals that provide a broad range of cross border support services.

The Committee was provided with detailed additional information on a variety of subjects, such as the Institute's strategic framework for the 2004 2007 period, its cooperation with related agencies such as the United Nations Development Fund for Women, a list of its project proposals and its fund raising strategy.

General Fund and Supplementary Fund activities

The strategy of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is to empower poor rural peoples by improving their assets and giving them influence over important decision making that shapes their future.
