In considering the issues put forward at the seventh session of the Working Group (see para.

20. Takes note with appreciation of the report of the Working Group on the Harmonization of Working Methods of Treaty Bodies,HRI MC 2007 2 and Add.1. and looks forward to further deliberations in this regard

We are, therefore, looking forward to more deliberations among the Member States concerning the Council's functioning and its relations with other bodies of the Organization, notably the Economic and Social Council.

Such examples are more relevant to the Sub Commission's thematic deliberations.

Further study was needed on how to strengthen the work of those mechanisms through increased collaboration.

Although initial discussions in the Working Group indicated the importance of the practice of continuing to deliberate on ways to enhance the effectiveness of United Nations sanctions, the Group did not reach conclusions concerning its future role in conducting or facilitating those deliberations.
