He stressed that requests for exemption under Article 19 should be submitted to the Committee on Contributions in accordance with the provisions of General Assembly resolution 54 237 C. Lastly, further efforts must be made to find a solution to the question of the unpaid assessed contributions of the former Yugoslavia.

Moreover, the increase in the amount of unpaid assessments over the previous two years had affected the Tribunals' core activities.

As the unpaid assessed contributions of the former Yugoslavia are not collectible from that State, the Assembly will need to decide what action should be taken.
