Their efforts to self insure, by, say, building up their foreign exchange reserves, perpetuate global economic imbalances.

How can better international surveillance and coordination of macroeconomic policies of developed and developing countries contribute to the ordered elimination of the existing global imbalances?

Greece fully participates in the policies formulated by the European Union and the various international organizations that contribute to the economic development of all areas of the world in order to redress existing imbalances.
