108. The NGO community convened a first NGO consultation in preparation for the 1995 NGO Forum immediately prior to the thirty seventh session of the Commission.

The actual consultation was held in Vienna in October 1993.

Requests the President of the General Assembly, in consultation with the Member States, and with the assistance of the Secretariat, to organize events prior to the High level Dialogue with a focus on its overall theme

Once the process of consultation is concluded, and prior to the expiration of the UNAMA mandate in March 2006, I intend to revert to the Council with specific proposals for the future role of the United Nations in Afghanistan.
