In October 2011, South Korea hosted of a series of events to raise public awareness about nuclear power.

The great number of festivals, cultural events, sports events and religious conferences organized in recent years attest to the collective awareness that dialogue is a key factor in establishing peace.

A selection of international events that were initiated to increase awareness of the value of sport to promote education, health, development and peace include the following

Given the many actors involved in training, capacity building and public awareness, the secretariat is taking a more strategic approach to its contributions to training workshops and side events.

Israeli NGOs organize events for raising awareness to the issue of trafficking in persons, various grassroots meetings are held between the representatives of the government and representatives from NGOs.

Training courses on internationalization could be provided for policymakers and managers of developing country enterprises, including events that would help raise awareness of the benefits of enterprise internationalization through OFDI.

UNEP developed a programme designed to help Governments and key partners to plan events to raise awareness of the need to preserve the quality and quantity of freshwater for future generations.

We are promoting traffic awareness among individuals in society, especially among students in primary school, through media, educational lectures, contests, prizes and participation in national and regional conferences and annual events on traffic.

Exhibits, programme activities and special events will reflect the theme of diversity in ways that complement the overall goal of promoting understanding and awareness of the importance of diversity in our lives, and the need to preserve global common goods.

Takes note with appreciation of the proclamation of 19 December as the United Nations Day for South South Cooperation, and encourages Member States to organize such events in the future to raise public awareness of the importance of South South cooperation
