Some gender expertise should be a requirement when recruiting new staff, especially programme staff, policy advisors and senior managers.

The introduction of a fair and transparent policy to guide the gradual reduction of staff has alleviated some initial anxieties and concerns of staff.

The Gender Unit also explains the zero tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation and abuse to newly arrived staff.
