Norway has leading scientists in several space related fields, while in satellite communications, satellite navigation and Earth observation, Norway is a noteworthy user nation.

The ENVISAT satellite, of ESA, the largest satellite ever built for Earth observation purposes, provided environmental, weather and climate protection services to more than 90 States.
