Public administration reform was also incorporated in the Bosnia and Herzegovina European Partnership Programme.

By that singular act, the Assembly gave the profession of public administration a clear identity and, with that, the confidence that public administration systems needed to proceed with reform and revitalization plans.

Emerging issues in revitalizing public administration

The Master of Public Administration (M.P.Adm., M.P.A., or MPA) is a professional post graduate degree in public administration which is the public sector's offering equivalent to the private sector's Master of Business Administration.

The measures adopted by many countries in recent years to reform and strengthen public administration systems differ from those instituted in the 1980s and the early 1990s.

In order to underline the importance of this project, in October 2004 the office of the public administration reform coordinator was moved to the office of the Prime Minister, who is in charge of the overall reform process.

Adopted in 2003 at the Fifth Ibero American Conference of Ministers for Public Administration and State Reform, the Ibero American Charter for the Public Service complements the Convention by serving as a reference for countries to modernize and professionalize their public administrations.
