And he said Lo ! I have preferred the good things ( of the world ) to the remembrance of my Lord till they were taken out of sight behind the curtain .

he said , Indeed I have preferred the love of worldly niceties to the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared behind the night s veil .

he said ' Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil .

And he said , Indeed , I gave preference to the love of good things over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain of darkness .

he said , My love of horses for the cause of God has made me continue watching them until sunset , thus making me miss my prayer .

Then he said Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my Lord until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over , ( he said )

he said , I have put the love of good things above the remembrance of my Lord , until the sun disappeared behind its veil and the horses disappeared from sight ,

And he said , Truly do I love the love of good , with a view to the glory of my Lord , until ( the sun ) was hidden in the veil ( of night )

Thus it was and We passed them on to another people .

That is what We did and We made another nation their heirs .

Even so and We bequeathed them upon another people .

Even so And We caused to inherit them another people .

Thus ( it was ) ! And We made other people inherit them ( i.e. We made the Children of Israel to inherit the kingdom of Egypt ) .

So it was and We passed it on to another people .

Thus it was and We made another people inherit all that .

Even so ( it was ) , and We made it an inheritance for other folk

So it was and We bequeathed them to another people .

As such ( it was ) . And We made other people inherit them .

Thus . And We caused to inherit it another people .

We gave these as an inheritance to other people .

Thus ( it was ) , and We gave them as a heritage to another people .

Such was their end , and what had been theirs We gave to other people to inherit .

Thus ( was their end ) ! And We made other people inherit ( those things ) !
