About Tarjma
Tarjma is a free website for everyone who needs Arabic: learners, families abroad, travellers, students and professionals. You can type Arabic without an Arabic keyboard, look up words with their vowels and pronunciation, and learn the language step by step.
Arabic keyboard and Arabizi
Type Arabic the way you write it in messages, with Latin letters and the numbers 3, 7 or 9, and the text turns into Arabic script as you type. A visual Arabic keyboard with vowel marks is also available on every device.
Dictionary
Each entry gives the Arabic word with its vowels, a transcription, the grammar you need (gender, plural, verb forms) and example sentences. Entries also show sentences from published bilingual texts, so you can see how a word is really used.

Short, practical guides cover the alphabet, the vowel marks, numbers, everyday phrases and how to type Arabic on a computer or phone.
Dialects
Spoken Arabic differs from one country to another. Our dialect pages for Tunisian, Moroccan, Algerian, Egyptian, Levantine and Gulf Arabic are written and checked by hand.
