We must also think about how to supplement disarmament, demobilization and reintegration activities with a view to improving their effectiveness, and how United Nations peacekeeping operations could contribute to tracing small arms and light weapons.

My delegation voted in favour of draft resolution A C.1 60 L.34 Rev.1, entitled Addressing the negative humanitarian and development impact of the illicit manufacture, transfer and circulation of small arms and light weapons and their excessive accumulation , because it believes in the good intentions of the sponsors, who are attempting to discuss the illicit trafficking in small arms and light weapons in the context of its humanitarian and development dimensions.

Let's think about some other domains, like maybe health.

And we need to think about how we can do that effectively.
