It is expected that results of this workshop will be taken into consideration at the fourteenth and fifteenth meetings of the Commission on Sustainable Development.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Commission introduced the formats of the Learning Centre and Partnership Fair in 2004 and since then has achieved good results. The CRIC should consider the possibility of introducing more flexible working formats such as the Learning Centre and Technique Transfer Expo .

4. Notes the outcome of the consultations between the Governing Council of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme and the Commission on Sustainable Development to avoid the overlap between the sessions of the Council and the Commission, and decides to reflect the results of those consultations in the revised calendar of conferences and meetings for 2005

The Council's general segment reviewed, inter alia, the outcomes of the work of the Council's functional commissions, including that of the Commission on Sustainable Development at its thirteenth session.

The importance of taking stock of the outcome of the work of the Commission at its thirteenth session was also emphasized with a view to guiding the Commission's work at future sessions.

In 2003, the Government had launched a comprehensive national programme on implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on Sustainable Development for the period 2003 2015.

We are pleased that the development outcomes recognize the need for good governance and anti corruption measures in developing countries and the crucial role of trade liberalization in stimulating sustainable development.

At its twelfth session, the Commission on Sustainable Development had made a critical examination of the follow up to Agenda 21 in the sphere of water, sanitation and human settlements.

Recalling decision 2 COP.6 on the outcome of the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) relevant to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD),

Having reviewed document ICCD COP(7) 6 on the follow up to the outcome of the WSSD relevant to the UNCCD,

Trade unions are pleased to participate in the present review of progress towards the outcomes of Agenda 21 and the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development as they relate to energy for sustainable development, industrial development, air pollution and atmosphere, and climate change.

Bearing in mind that the substantive activities of the review should take into account, as appropriate, the results relevant to sustainable development of other United Nations conferences and summits and their follow up activities,

Recognizing chapter 13 of Agenda 21 and all relevant paragraphs of the Plan of Implementation of the World Summit on Sustainable Development ( Johannesburg Plan of Implementation ), in particular paragraph 42 thereof, as the overall policy frameworks for sustainable development in mountain regions,

Noting the outcome of the meeting of the Adelboden Group on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Mountain Regions, which met in Rome from 1 to 3 October 2007,

4. Invites the Secretary General to take the appropriate steps to organize the activities of the Decade, taking into account the results of the International Year of Freshwater and the work of the Commission on Sustainable Development at its twelfth and thirteenth sessions

The outcomes of the WSSD relevant to the UNCCD were presented by the Executive Secretary to the sixth session of the COP in document ICCD COP(6) 5.

The draft resolution, in paragraph 2, endorses the outcome of the International Meeting, as embodied in the Mauritius Declaration and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.

Mauritius was indeed honoured to have had the opportunity to host the International Meeting on the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, and we look forward to the adoption today of the draft resolution endorsing the Mauritius outcome by consensus.

The outcomes of various world summits and declarations of the General Assembly, such as the United Nations Millennium Declaration, the Monterrey Consensus and the outcome of the World Summit on Sustainable Development have all recognized the importance of international cooperation and identified the means of strengthening it.

The year also saw expansion of the Growing Sustainable Business initiative, a key programme that takes the findings of the Commission's report and pushes the envelope of innovative strategies at the nexus of markets and development.

On the basis of the conclusions of the WSSD in Johannesburg, the Netherlands has developed a sustainable development strategy called Sustainable Action', which addresses five major themes water, energy, health, agriculture and biodiversity.

The draft resolution addresses the outcome of the International Meeting held in Mauritius from 10 to 14 January 2005, which had as its principal focus a review of the implementation of the Barbados Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.
