The Statistical Commission addressed issues of international merchandise trade statistics at its thirty fourth and thirty fifth sessions.

Under item 16, the Board had before it a note by the Director General on the provisional agenda and date of the thirty first session (IDB.30 CRP.5).

At the thirty sixth session of the Commission, South Africa had presented a background note raising concerns about the manner in which specific national data had been used by international organizations.
