A National Committee to Combat Drugs has been set up.

The Equal Employment Plan, adopted within the framework of a tripartite national commission on equal opportunities, had also yielded positive results.

The human rights component of the peace support operation would work with the parties to develop and strengthen national and local capacity for the protection and promotion of human rights, including the development of an independent and effective national Human Rights Commission, which would be of particular importance.

The Department of Health and Social Services is represented on a National Committee whose primary function is to develop a framework for an all hazard health emergency management plan.

The ICC comprises 16 NIs, 4 from each of the regional groups Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe.
