Draft guidance for the reviewing and updating of national implementation plans

The objectives of the meeting are determined by two factors decisions that, according to the terms of the Convention, must be taken at the first meeting of the Conference of the Parties and the need for the Conference of the Parties to take action on practical measures that are required to ensure the timely implementation of the Convention and successful operation of the Conference in future years.

Request the financial mechanism of the Convention, recognizing the importance of national implementation plans toin a Party's ability to implement its obligations under the Convention, to support the regular review and updating of the national implementation plans in accordance with the guidance adopted under subparagraph (a) above.

The mechanisms in the national plans of action for children are more variable.

Most Parties provided information on their national development plans and or national action plans on climate change.

Civil society is frequently involved in the preparation of national plans of action, but less so in implementation, monitoring and review.
