Reaffirming the ministerial declaration of the high level segment of its substantive session of 2003,

At the 12th meeting, on 30 June, the President of the Council opened discussion on the ministerial review of progress in the implementation of the 2003 ministerial declaration of the Council.

7. Takes note of the decision to hold in 2002 the second Economic Cooperation Organization ministerial meeting on energy petroleum, the first Economic Cooperation Organization ministerial meeting on the environment and the fourth ministerial meeting on transport and communications

Recalling also that the ministerial declaration called for a coherent, system wide information and communication technologies strategy that would ensure coordination and synergy among programmes and activities of individual organizations of the system and transform it into a knowledge based system of organizations,

In that respect, we welcome the generous pledges and firm commitments of the international community, announced at the ministerial level meeting held in Geneva last week, in response to the United Nations flash appeal for the tsunami affected countries.

As we have shown in the framework of the seven nation ministerial declaration (A 60 415, annex) initiated by Norway, Indonesia will continue to support any initiative designed to jumpstart work in the Conference on Disarmament, including Mexico's initiative.

(c) Consider establishing a global goal for sustainable forest management, with a view to agreeing that such a goal might be incorporated into a ministerial declaration and a message from ministers responsible for forests to the High level Plenary Meeting of the sixtieth session of the General Assembly

The ministerial level discussions are likely to take place in August.
