Rehabilitation programmes for perpetrators of domestic violence.

Concerning the employment status of the perpetrators, it seems that 8 out of 10 perpetrators of domestic violence are employed.

At the same time, nomads have been perpetrators of violence and terrorism.

The chapter will also consider women as perpetrators of violence against women.

A section of the society believes instead of combating violence against women, these laws in some cases protect perpetrators of violence.

The Qisas and Diyat law is therefore alleged to offer immunity to perpetrators in some cases of violence against women, including of the so called honour killings, or to make prosecution and conviction of perpetrators of such violence more difficult.

Yet the perpetrators of wartime mass rape and other forms of sexual violence usually are not prosecuted.

The new indictments concentrated on the organizers of the violence and the most egregious direct perpetrators of murders.

The Government is at present not conducting any rehabilitation programmes for perpetrators of domestic violence. One reason is lack of resources.

This concern applies even more acutely in situations where international personnel tasked with aiding local populations are the perpetrators of such violence.

We teach positive parenting, many of these women continue to be physically violent to their children, so the children become perpetrators of violence.

Failure to bring to justice those responsible for sexual violence results in impunity for such crimes and encourages potential perpetrators.

The Law provided that victims and others could lodge complaints against the perpetrators of domestic violence and that courts could issue protection orders.

In that connection, all Governments had a legal and moral obligation to educate women about the need to denounce the perpetrators of violence.

This does not mean, however, that the nature and intensity of violence generated by or against the perpetrators of terrorist acts cannot trigger or amount to a situation of armed conflict.

Concerning the use of narcotic substances by the perpetrators, 62 of them do not make any use, as mentioned by women victims of domestic violence, while 38 make use of such substances.

Many activists however believe that the new law does not go far enough in removing legal lacunae on account of which some perpetrators of violence against women cannot be fully punished.

The court tried both the perpetrators of such crimes and those who aided and abetted the perpetrators.

Three of the perpetrators were arrested.

Four of the perpetrators remain under arrest, while in two cases the perpetrators were released shortly after arrest.
