The common reporting format (CRF) is an integral part of the national inventory submission.

Discussions with UNDP and UNICEF on their particular requirements, as well as a common reporting format, have been initiated.

The tables of the common reporting format are available in document FCCC CP 2004 10 Add.2, pages 47 61.

The secretariat also reported on the status of the development and planned deployment of the new reporting software for the common reporting format, CRF Reporter (see also chapter IV below).

Standard electronic format for reporting of information on Kyoto Protocol units1

At present, Annex I Parties are moving towards using a new inventory reporting software (the common reporting format (CRF) reporter), developed by the secretariat to facilitate the submission of GHG inventory data in accordance with previously adopted guidelines and requirements.

(n) Finalization of the draft format for Party reporting pursuant to Article 15 of the Convention

The secretariat shall, under the direction of the expert review team, conduct a standardized set of data comparisons to be performed on the electronic common reporting format submissions to be used in the review process.

In 2004, the secretariat organized a review for each country that provided a complete inventory submission (i.e. containing the common reporting format and a national inventory report) within six weeks of the submission due date.

Poland is also looking forward to a substantial discussion on the format and scope of the reporting practice.

At the 1999 First Meeting of the States Parties, the States Parties adopted a reporting format to facilitate transparency reporting as required under Article 7 of the Convention.

For technical reasons (for example, size of tables and fonts), the layout of the printed version of the tables of the common reporting format for land use, land use change and forestry activities in this document cannot be standardized.

General reporting instructions The standard electronic format (SEF) is an essential part of submission under Article 7.1 of the Kyoto Protocol.

Form D of the Article 7 reporting format currently includes three tables enabling States Parties to provide required information, as follows

UNFPA is engaged in discussions to build a prototype based on initial requirements identified for results based budgeting, with a phased implementation approach. UNFPA has initiated discussions with UNDP and UNICEF on their requirements as well as on a common reporting format.

A standardized format for internal progress reporting needs to be reintroduced and used as a tool for programme management and decision making.

It would significantly reduce the need for rework associated with the interconnection of different systems that require data conversion into a common format.

The revision of the format of the Annual Protection Report (APR), with the objectives of simplifying reporting requirements and to increase its utility, is currently under way.

The expert review team shall conduct an initial check as a desk or centralized review to examine that each Party included in Annex I has submitted a consistent, complete and timely annual inventory, including the national inventory report and the common reporting format (CRF), and that data contained in the CRF are complete by means of computerized analysis and checks and in the correct format to enable subsequent review stages to occur.

To ensure effective integration, there must be a system that uses a common communications plan, SOPs and reporting procedures.
