Takes note of the status of contributions to the Peacekeeping Reserve Fund as at 31 December 2004

Updated status of contributions to the General Fund for the ccore bbudget, the Supplementary Fund and the Special Fund as at 17 October 2005 will be is reported in document ICCD COP(7) 2 Add.6.

The Committee sought information on the status of the Peacekeeping Reserve Fund and was informed that the cash available in the Fund amounted to 140 million as at 31 October 2005.

I now turn to agenda item 156, entitled Observer status for the Common Fund for Commodities in the General Assembly .

The Secretariat will report on the status of contributions to the fund in the financial reports that will be prepared for COP 2.

Updated information will also be submitted to the General Assembly at its sixtieth session in the annual report of the Secretary General on the status of the Fund.

In that regard, the Office was encouraged to complete its survey on the status of project implementation, which might also assist in providing a more accurate picture of fund balances.
