The amount of 97,800 of the increases relating to overtime, supplies and materials and office automation equipment relates to the redeployment of resources from subsection D, Programme support.

To partly offset this increase, the provisions made for other secretariat wide costs under General operating expenses, Acquisition of furniture and equipment and Supplies and materials have been revisited and reduced.

Vaccines and immunization supplies remained the largest commodity group at 376 million, followed by educational supplies and medical equipment.

Under non post objects of expenditure, resources relate to general temporary assistance, overtime, travel of staff and other operational costs, such as general operating expenses, supplies and materials and furniture and equipment.

The non post requirements would provide for general temporary assistance, consultants, overtime, official travel of staff, contractual services, general operating expenses, supplies and materials and furniture and equipment for both CEB secretariat offices.

UNICEF will work with partners to provide leadership in the provision of essential commodities, including pharmaceuticals, vaccines, micronutrients, insecticide treated materials for the prevention of malaria, and cold chain equipment and immunization supplies.
