What can be done to raise awareness among the main stakeholders and general public and to foster environmentally sound waste management practices?

E. Waste disposal and waste management

The objectives of the Basel Convention are to reduce the generation and transboundary movement of hazardous wastes to a minimum and ensure that such wastes are treated and disposed of as close to the source of generation as possible and in an environmentally sound manner.

Environmentally damaging projects should be abandoned systematically.
