The customs office of Khorramshahr was among the first targets.

Precious stones and metals are subject to the same customs procedures as all goods in accordance with the customs clearance procedures established in the Central American Uniform Customs Code (CAUCA) and its regulation (RECAUCA).

According to Article 128 of the Customs Code of the RA all goods and vehicles imported through the customs border of the RA are subject to declaration.

The submitted customs declaration is collected by customs entity.

Customs declaration for goods and vehicles should be presented to the customs entities before customs control is applied to the goods and vehicles, before they undergo customs processing and are released from customs control.

Although the customs border enforcement in the region has improved since the beginning of the Monitoring Group's mandate, it is advisable that all customs authorities in the region adopt the technique of customs risk assessment in dealing with the illicit arms trafficking.

As for customs control in the sense of risk management, precious stones and metals are targeted within the red channel in all computerized customs posts at which such shipments arrive.

Controls on the cross border movement of liquid cash, negotiable instruments and other items of value are part of the normal controls that Dutch Customs carries out. The customs authorities report unusual movements of money and commodities they encounter to the Unusual Transactions Disclosures Office.

Customs are responsible for the control of goods and all means of transportation in external border.

Under the agreement between the Customs Office and the National Office of Nuclear Energy and Technology, officials assigned to land border posts, Carrasco Airport and the Port of Montevideo will be provided with appropriate instruments for detecting radioactive materials.

The Customs authorities are conducting customs control, which does not have a special regulation for the religious, benevolent and cultural organizations. That is, the customs bodies undertake customs control regardless of the purpose of the activities of the persons transferring goods across customs borders.

However, scanner checks are not yet commonplace at all border customs offices, as the equipment is not available at all the offices.
