It decided to entrust the drafting of proposals for the revision of the Model Law to its Working Group I (Procurement).

Many UNICEF country offices provided technical assistance for the development of funding proposals and, in some cases, procurement services for these major funds.

The implications of the reform proposals on different mechanisms, including the Commission, the Sub Commission, the Commission on the Status of Women and the treaty bodies, were also mentioned.

The aim of the roundtable is to shape the attitudes and ideas of women into proposals and forward them to policy makers local governments, the Government of the Republic, Parliament and political parties.

That decision had necessitated the revised budget contained in document A 60 176 and CARICOM endorsed the proposals of the Secretary General in that regard.

This meeting continues the work of two previous expert meetings which were convened by the Commission at the request of the General Assembly to study and update the legislation in force and to propose recommendations for a clearer legal definition of mercenaries that would allow for more efficient prevention and punishment of mercenary activities.

The proposals to reform the Security Council have clearly caused a great deal of excitement among Member States and the general public, and there is great temptation to put that issue at the top of our agenda.

Prior to the adoption of the resolution, the Steering Committee on Reform and Management asked OIOS to take the lead in developing specific proposals for strengthening the Organization's system of monitoring and evaluation.

Indeed, while the FDIC and the BoE were working on their plan, the US Federal Reserve was developing proposals that will expose overseas banks in the US to a far tighter set of controls, and closer supervision, than they have hitherto experienced.
